Molly Secours has been named the 2011 recipient of the Southern Criminal Justice Association (SCJA) Outstanding Professional Award. Each year SCJA honors a practitioner in the field of criminal justice for outstanding contributions.
Secours was recognized for her efforts through film, writing and speaking on behalf of minority and disenfranchised youth. Among the numerous videos Secours has made with and about youth in the juvenile justice system is "Welcome To My Hood" which screened extensively on The Documentary Channel 2009-2010 (see video below).
The Southern Criminal Justice Association is a professional association serving criminal justice educators, researchers, practitioners, and students committed to the ongoing development of criminal justice science and practice.
A regional organization affiliated with the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, member states include Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, Mississippi, Louisiana, Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
