Peter Bratt Honored with the Norman Lear Writer's Award from the Imagen Foundation


Peter Bratt has been honored with the Norman Lear Writer's Award from the Imagen Foundation. He received the award at the foundation's annual awards ceremony on Sunday, August 15, 2010 in Los Angeles.

The Imagen Awards, established 1985, encourages and recognizes positive portrayal of Latinos in all media and increases Latino representation at all levels in entertainment. The Imagen Awards Ceremony, this year celebrating “25 Years of Making a Difference,”  is attended by A-list stars and top entertainment industry executives and is recognized by the Latino community as the pioneer for accessing and developing all levels of talent and excellence. Awards are given in 18 categories.

Past Imagen Awards attendees have included Rita Moreno, Salma Hayek, Antonio Banderas, Jimmy Smits, America Ferrera, George Lopez, Hector Elizondo, Mario Lopez, Melanie Griffith, Edward James Olmos, Wanda de Jesus, Danny Pino, Carlos Mencia, Constance Marie,  among others.

Bratt's most recent film is "La Mission" which he wrote and directed. This acclamed movie premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. It was also selected as opening night film for a number of prestigious festivals including the 2009 San Francisco International Film Festival, 2009 Outfest in Los Angeles, and the New York Latino International Film Festival.
