"Pistols and Prayers" a Huge Success at the Berkeley Rep

A sold-out crowd turned out for the world premiere of "Pistols and Prayers," written, directed and performed by Ise Lyfe. The famed Berkeley Repertory Theatre was the site for this cultural collage of spoken word, African American
folk spirituals, classical music, Hip Hop and theater, as Pistols and Prayers celebrated the African Diaspora and its impact on urban America.
Acclaimed spoken word Hip Hop artist Ise Lyfe provided a glimpse into his coming of age as a man, artist and advocate for social change. His journey was accompanied by the African American folk traditions of renowned singer-songwriter Melanie DeMore and young Master Cellist, Michael Fecskes with DJ DC from KMEL 106.1.
